Hexopolis

Hexopolis is a  project on the symbolism of the hexagon in public space.
The name is made up from HEX meaning 6, and ~OPOLIS meaning citizens’ state, a geometric-utopia.   In spite of good intentions, now hexagons in urban places often seem abject, those intentions neglected and forgotten.

The artists’ photobook Charter Square Sheffield Rising and site-specific pop-up interventions lament the degradation and impending razing of Hexpolis.
